Giestas is a family business, and it has grown with an idea that is still present in the way we work today: a home is not made only of furniture, but of the choices we make to make it our own.
Over the years, trends and possibilities have changed. The variety of materials, finishes and solutions available has grown. But one thing has remained: the importance of helping each customer understand what really makes sense for their space.
That is how we still work today.
Giestas began as a family business in the 1970s, and the name comes from our founding grandmother’s surname. She took care of the commercial side, serving and advising people who came into the store, and our grandfather made the deliveries, taking the pieces to customers’ homes.
The second generation joined very early: the current owner joined the business at 15 and, in 1992, opened her own store on Rua da Passagem in Valongo, just a few metres from where it had all begun. That is where Giestas continues today.
We have always worked with a wide range of brands and manufacturers, choosing for each customer what makes sense for their home. As customers’ needs evolved, our offer grew with them: 3D projects, curtains, rugs and made-to-measure solutions arrived.
Today, more than fifty years later, Giestas is a place where you can find furniture, decor and different solutions to think about a home in a more complete way.

Furniture and decor, 3D projects, personalised and made-to-measure solutions, curtains, rugs, wallpaper, tapestry, delivery and assembly are some of the different ways we can help you. Made-to-measure manufacturing includes colour customisation, with national materials.
We serve customers all over the country, at the Valongo store and also through the online shop.
